Venture Out helps groups become teams
The University of Missouri’s Venture Out program offers dynamic programs designed to promote communication, cooperation and teamwork in a safe, active and fun environment.
Based on the experiential education model of learning by doing, groups are presented with a series of challenging activities that require participants to communicate clearly, plan carefully and cooperate fully in order to succeed. Through shared effort, groups build trust, communication skills and cohesiveness
Our facilitators present and monitor activities to maintain physical and emotional safety and adapt the challenges to meet the group’s abilities. Since all activities follow a “challenge by choice” model, each participant becomes responsible for the extent of their participation. However all participants are encouraged to challenge themselves by moving out of their comfort zones by setting personal challenges.
To maximize the “take away” lessons in our program, facilitators actively encourage and guide reflection on each activity and help participants discover the parallels between the activity and their daily lives.
During the winter, Venture Out works with a wide variety of campus, community and corporate groups presenting indoor teambuilding programs on campus or at your facility. In warmer months, programs focus on our low and high ropes course, rock climbing and adventure trips.
Each of our programs is tailored to the specific needs of your group.
